Your Hosts

Our common interest in good food, healthy sustainable living and a love of the Southern Highlands has inspired us to open our accommodation in the area.

We try to live simply on our half acre.  We maintain a closed loop nutrient system where food scraps from the garden are fed to our chickens, whose waste in turn we process into compost, which then is returned to the garden.

Miles

having studied Permaculture and obtaining a Masters Degree in Applied Science  - has farmed cattle as well as crops, selling certified organic produce.  He was manager of the Resource Recovery Centre for the Wingecarribee Shire Council for almost 17 years, then worked with e-waste in Wollongong and is now working as a consultant on various environmental projects.

Miles has spent most of his life in the Southern Highlands,  boasting a wealth of local knowledge and also having a passion for the natural environment.  We would like you to appreciate the beauty of the area as much as we do and are happy to share this with you.

Michelle

as well as sharing Miles' passion for the environment and permaculture - has a strong interest in art, and reuse.  She is happy to discuss her craft work should you have an interest.  She is also really into her ‘chooks’ and is happy to "talk chickens" with guests.
